Name: Sarah Hopkins
My love of rugby started when I was taken as toddler to watch my Dad play for local Cardiff team the Cardiff Civil Service Club - I can still smell the Deep Heat and muddy boots if I cast my mind back. As a Cardiff girl I was taken to see a few Cardiff RFC matches growing up and I got my first season ticket when I came back to Cardiff from university in the year 2000. So it's my 17th season of being a season ticket holder and it will be 10th season of being involved with CBSC.
A founder member of CBSC, I had previously been the Secretary on Cardiff Rugby Supporters' Club. I have been proud to be the Chairperson of this organisation - we've been through both good and bad times! I have an amazing team of enthusiastic and committed volunteers who give up so much of their own time to make CBSC a success. From attending meetings with the Cardiff Blues, Pro Rugby Wales, Joint Supporters Group and WRU, to running our social media channels on practically a 24/7 basis, to organising trips and events to make sure our team has the best possible support at home and away.
By trade I am the People & Engagement Director of a utility company based in Newport and it's a job I love. I am mum to two young kids whose heroes are Josh Navidi, Ellis Jenkins and Sam Warburton, and two not so young cats. Rugby is a big part of our lives at home as my husband Andrew is the Chairperson of the Friends of Newport Rugby Trust - he is also a Cardiff Blues season ticket holder so it can get interesting!
Thanks for your ongoing support for me and my team - we can't do it without you!
